Today Xiaomi officially announced it’s newest Redmi Note smartphone in Beijing, China. The Redmi Note 7 will be the first phone to operate under it’s new independent brand “Redmi”.
Pricing for a Redmi Note 7 starts at RMB 999 (AUD 205) for the base model with 32GB storage and 3GB RAM. Other variants will include 64GB+4GB, or 64GB+6GB. Until Xiaomi arrives in Australia, importing will be the only way to get your hands on one.
Specifications for the Redmi Note 7 look impressive. It features a Xiaomi first – 48MP rear camera. Your selfies will also great with a 13 MP front camera. The Redmi Note 7 battery is typically sized at 4000mAh. Another change and also first for the Redmi series is the USB-type C port. This is accompanied by a 3.5mm headphone jack. Under the hood you will find Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 processor. This is somewhat a surprise as this chip is likely to age given its 2017 release. Price is always a winning factor for any Xiaomi product purchase so this cannot be overlooked.
