Xiaomi has officially released the Mi MIX Alpha, its latest 5G Surround Display Concept Smartphone. The device brings an innovative Surround Screen display with a screen-to-body ratio of more than 180%. It also features the worlds first 108MP camera and is finely crafted with a one-of-a-kind combination of aerospace-grade titanium alloy, precision ceramic and sapphire glass.
The Mi MIX series endeavours to push the limits of innovation and smartphone technology. The Mi MIX Alpha builds upon this with its World first Surround Display. The display of Mi MIX Alpha extends from front to back and when the screen lights up, it’s like the universe:
no end and no boundaries, but a stunningly futuristic feeling.
The Mi MIX Alpha has thin bezels on both top and bottom and features a display that wraps from front to back. The Mi MIX Alpha’s back is now covered by the display and its physical side buttons have been completely removed. Replacing these are pressure-sensitive virtual side buttons with linear motor to simulate the touch of real buttons.
Mi MIX Alpha features an astonishing 108MP camera with the highest pixel count, highest resolution, and the largest sensor found in any smartphone. At 1/1.33 inches, this ultra-large sensor captures more light and detail producing photos with unprecedented clarity. Four-axis optical image stabilization (OIS) is also onboard. In addition to the 108MP camera, there’s a 12MP telephoto camera that supports 2x optical zoom and Dual PD focus, and a 20MP ultra wide-angle camera with super macro capabilities.
The Mi MIX Alpha is a high-performing beast. It features the same incredibly fast super-flagship Snapdragon 855+ SoC found in the recently announced Mi 9 Pro 5G. Mi MIX Alpha also sports a nano-silicon-based lithium-ion 4050mAh battery with 40W wired fast charging. Maximum memory and storage configurations will be 12GB+512GB.
